This privacy policy explains how Meg Zirger ("I," "me," "my") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit megzirger.com or get in touch about coaching.
Who I am
I'm Meg Zirger, an independent executive and leadership coach based in Barcelona, Spain. I run this website to share information about my coaching practice and let people get in touch.
What information I collect
I only collect the information you choose to share with me:
When you contact me or book a session: your name, email address, and any details you share about what you'd like to discuss.
If you sign up for emails or a newsletter from me (when offered): your name and email address. I'll only send what you've signed up for, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
When you visit the site: basic technical information that Squarespace (my website host) collects automatically, such as your general location, browser type, and pages visited. This helps the site function and gives me a sense of overall traffic.
When you book through Calendly: Calendly collects your name, email, and any answers you provide when scheduling. Calendly is an independent service with its own privacy policy, which you can read at calendly.com/privacy.
I do not use Google Analytics or other third-party trackers on this site.
Why I collect it
I use your information to:
Respond to your inquiries
Schedule and conduct coaching sessions
Send you information related to our coaching engagement, or, if you've opted in, occasional emails or a newsletter
Keep records required for tax and legal purposes
I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing.
Where it's stored
Website data: stored by Squarespace, my website provider.
Scheduling data: stored by Calendly.
Email correspondence: stored in my email account (currently Gmail, provided by Google).
Coaching records: stored securely and only accessible to me.
These providers may store data on servers outside the EU. Each maintains its own security and privacy standards and complies with applicable data protection laws.
How long I keep it
Inquiries that don't lead to coaching: deleted within 12 months.
Active coaching records: kept for the duration of our engagement and up to 6 years after, in line with professional and tax record-keeping requirements.
Confidential session content: never shared and deleted at the end of our engagement unless you ask me to keep it longer.
Your rights
If you're in the EU, UK, or other jurisdictions with similar laws, you have the right to:
Ask what information I hold about you
Ask me to correct or update it
Ask me to delete it (where I'm not legally required to keep it)

Cookies
This site uses essential cookies required for the website to function (managed by Squarespace). I don't use marketing or tracking cookies.

Anything you share with me during a coaching session is treated as confidential and is not stored alongside your contact information. Confidentiality is a core part of how I work; the only exceptions are situations involving risk of serious harm or where I'm legally required to disclose information.
